Saracen’s Head rider Ben Stafford was in action at the start of the 12-round Pirelli National 600 Superstock series at Donington Park.
Qualifying last year had its ups and downs but this time with a new structure to the team set-up Stafford means business and set about getting closer to the front runners.
At the end of qualifying he had a grid position of 13th for Monday’s race.
Weather conditions were favourable and during the morning warm-up the team made changes to Stafford’s bike to try to take advantage of the track, only to find that they appeared to be slower.
After 14 laps of what can only be described as mayhem, Stafford crossed the line in a creditable ninth position for the first result for 2015 and he set a new personal best time for the two-and-a-half-mile track.
