Long Sutton sidecar driver Scott Parnell made a pleasing return to action at Donington Park at the weekend.
With an experienced temporary passenger in the form of Dean Kilkenny, the SMP team qualified in seventh out of 32 for the first of three races.
Parnell twice ended up on the grass in that opening race but finished 18th, despite being left without any brakes after the pads moved.
With the brakes sorted for Sunday’s two eight-lap races, the pair finished a superb seventh in the opener as they averaged over 80 miles per hour.
It was same again for the third race of the weekend as they gained another seventh place.
Parnell was delighted with his improvement over the weekend, even though the sidecar was looking worse for wear with a large dent and tyre marks on it.
He is now looking forward to the next British Formula two championship round again at Donington in July.
