Spalding gymnasts competed in a national competition and came away winning medals in all levels that they competed in.

Clubs from all over came to Milton Keynes to take part in the annual Roses competition run by Arabian Gymnastic Club.

There were different levels, starting from recreational up to high skill.

Clubs from Lancashire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Devon, Buckinghamshire, Essex and Lincolnshire competed on tumbling, vault, beam, bars and trampette – giving the gymnasts the opportunity to try out moves they have been working on in training.

This is always a very popular competition and, with 280-plus gymnasts, it was well organised and, although a long day, it was enjoyed by those taking part.
