MOTORSPORT: Rudd brothers shine in the mud at soaked Sculthorpe

HOLBEACH brothers Ryan, Ashley and Kieran Rudd are used to racing on tough tracks – but the Sculthorpe circuit tested their skills to to the limit.

With heavy rain rendering the track a massive mud-bath, an impressive set of results highlighted the TRM trio’s undoubted talent at the Norfolk MXC motocross event.

Leading the charge was Ashley in the Big Wheel section.

With riders coming off their bikes left, right and centre, the teen kept his cool and rode superbly to grab two second places and a victory, which made him first overall.

The eldest of the brothers, Ryan, was also in fantastic form.

In his first season racing at 250 (schoolboy) standard, he put in his best showing yet as two third places and a seventh made him second overall.

The fast-starting ace also took the hole shot award in all three races.

Young gun Kieran found himself in the wars. He finished second overall after finishes of second, fourth and first – but that only tells half the story.

He flipped over his handlebars in race two of the Autos, but showed nerves of steel to carry on.

Elsewhere, Lee Rudd was in solid supermoto form at Blyton. He took a 12th place in the opening Elite meeting, before crashing when seventh in the second.

Both Lee and Ryan are in action at Silverstone this weekend, alongside the Moto GP event.
