BEN Wilson returns to the scene of his first-ever Gearlink Kawasaki win this weekend – with a 58-point championship lead under his belt.
The British Supersport championship leader from Kirton heads north of the border to Knockhill in Fyfe for round five of the series.
Wilson is expecting another hard-fought couple of races as the championship nears its halfway stage, but reckons that qualifying could be key to his chances.
He said: “I realise I am in a strong position but it wouldn’t do to be complacent.
“There is a long way to go and right now I am just concentrating on picking up as many points as I can.
“I am looking forward to Knockhill. It is a short, technical circuit and one that I have won at in the past.
“Last year I was on the podium and the year before I celebrated my first win for Gearlink Kawasaki.
“This year we have two races each time and because the Knockhill circuit is very twisty with not too many passing points I need to qualify well to gain a strong grid position for the Sprint race.
“That takes place on Saturday and my fastest lap in that race determines the grid position for race two on Sunday.”
Free practice and qualifying take place on Friday and Saturday morning, with race one due on track at 3.50pm on Saturday to run over 18 laps.
Race two, the feature race over 25 laps is scheduled for 3.35pm on Sunday.
