RYAN Rudd showed superb consistency to make a good impact at the weekend meet for Peterborough Junior Motocross Club.
The 16-year-old, who rides for Holbeach-based TRM Racing, had five races over the two-day meet at Chatteris – and finished second in them all.
His most impressive achievement was still managing to finish runner-up after crashing in his last race on Saturday. He was second overall in the Schoolboy 250 class.
Younger brothers Ashley (13) and Kieran (8) had a mixed bag of results.
In the Big Wheel 150 category, Ashley had a second and fifth place on Saturday. His third race was red-flagged for an accident and he finished fourth overall.
He had a really bad start to the opener on Sunday and found himself with the whole field ahead of him, but some neat riding saw him recover to take ninth place.
The second race was much better for Ashley and a fourth place left him fifth overall.
Kieran was sandwiched badly going into the first corner of the opening Autos race and had to settle for eighth place among the 18 riders. Steady improvement in the next races saw him finish sixth and then fifth.
On Sunday he rode consistently to be sixth overall.
The lads head to Great Hockham this weekend for a Norfolk and Suffolk Motocross Club meet.
