BEN Stafford’s dazzling season took another exciting twist as he claimed a deserved rider of the year award.

The 14-year old Saracens Head lad collected his 250cc British supermoto trophy at the ACU/ Norasport end of season presentation in Barnsley just before the Christmas Break.

And Stafford, who secured the title at the last round of the championship at Cadwell Park by winning the last three races, also collected a sixth place trophy in the open National Championship.

But to top off a memorable year, he also collected the John Claire Norasport rider of the year award for his efforts.

The hi-octane youngster is one of a number of talented young riders that race for Holbeach-based team TRM.

Stafford and his family would like to thank the local sponsors for their continued support throughout the 2010 season.

Without their help the teenage starlet would not have been able to scale such lofty heights.

Special thanks to Paul at G&D Engineering, Tony at Woods agriculture, Russ at Lincs Lambretta’s, Lee at LRdesigns, Mark at HMT and TRM Racing, Lucas oils, Acerbis UK and Scorpion Exhausts.
