MOTOR SPORT: Wilson looks to consolidate his third place

As we reach the half way stage of the 2013 British Supersport Championship, Kirton rider Ben Wilson travels to Brands Hatch for two races this weekend.

Wilson is currently holding third place in the rider standings and will be seeking two good results from the Kent circuit to consolidate his position.

At the corresponding meeting last year Wilson was unable to make it on to the podium and came away with a fifth and sixth place. But this year’s Gearlink Kawasaki is a much faster beast and Ben will be focused on climbing on to the podium once again.

Friday is devoted to testing on the Indy circuit and Wilson will be in action at 4pm for a half-hour test.

However, the racing switches to the GP circuit for free practice on Saturday at 10.20am, followed by qualifying at 2.50pm.

The sprint race will be run on Sunday at 10.15am over 10 laps of the GP circuit, leaving little time for the riders to catch their breaths before heading back onto the circuit for the 16-lap feature race at 3.40pm.
