Holbeach young gun Ashley Rudd mixed it with the best of British motocross racers over the weekend.
Team TRM ace Rudd was competing at Hawkstone Park for the first time, as he lined up against 40 other in the British Masters’ Pirelli MX2 class.
On a notoriously tough course, which features a dauntingly steep hill, the South Holland starlet qualified a respectable 26th.
He improved to place 24th in his first outing on Saturday, before roaring to 18th in his second race.
Rudd followed that up with finishes of 20th and 19th on the Sunday, making him a solid 17th overall.
• While brother Ashley was racing in Shropshire, Ryan and Kieran Rudd were in Peterborough Motocross Club action at Chatteris.
Ryan, the eldest of the Rudd clan, shone in the Schoolboy 125 group.
He picked up three fifth places on Saturday, before grabbing a hat-trick of fourths on Sunday – getting the hole shot in all six races.
That made him fourth overall and represented a solid weekend of racing.
Kieran, meanwhile, shrugged off two crashes to grab sixth overall in the Autos category. He placed sixth (twice) and fifth on Saturday, before a trio of sixth places 24 hours later.
Team TRM are back in action this weekend at Great Hockham.
