ASHLEY Rudd stole the show with a remarkable victory for Team TRM at Chatteris last weekend.
The youngster was in excellent form in the small wheel section of the motocross meet, finishing second and first in his opening two races.
But his defining moment was still to come in thrilling finale. Needing a second place to clinch overall victory, Ashley crashed at the first corner and fell to the back of the field.
However, he stormed back through the field and amazingly took the chequered flag in first place – a performance that earned him the TRM racer of the day award.
Elder brother Ryan Rudd was also in scorching form in the big wheel category.
He claimed a trio of second places to wrap up a deserved second place overall.
Elsewhere, six-year-old prodigy Kieran Rudd put in another eye-catching display.
Racing in the autos he shrugged off three crashes to take an impressive 13th place out of 22 riders.
There was also a rare outing for supermoto maestro Lee Rudd in the over-35 category. In a typically competitive section, he ended up a cracking sixth overall.
Mark Rudd, who doesn’t normally race at Chatteris, missed the meet after last week’s crash but is firmly on the mend and should be back within two weeks.
Next up for the Holbeach team is a supermoto meet at Rowrah in Cumbria this weekend. Ashley, Ryan and Lee Rudd will all be on the track.
