TORITE TKD’s Team GB members have received a welcome boost from a local firm ahead of the WKC World Championships this November.

Greenfield Security director Nectario Greenfield has donated £150 to the Spalding club, while also offering to stump up for some competition hoodies for team members.

Team Torite will spend four days at the Cadiz championships, but as it is considered an amateur event they will not be provided with government funding.

With each member having to finance themselves, costs could rise as high as £1,000 per competitor – meaning Greenfield’s help is greatly appreciated.

Greenfield said: “My young son comes to this club, so I see how much effort the students put into their preparation for the competitions.

“The students are also working so hard to do well at the Worlds. A lot of this has to be down to Instructor John Burke.

“He always has time for everyone and seems to be able to get the best out of each student, adult and youngster alike.

“Greenfield Security wishes them lots of luck at the World Championships.”

Team Torite are holding a fundraiser at Alley Catz in Spalding (July 18) and a car boot sale at Spalding Grammar School (August 29).

They will also be packing bags at Tesco in Bourne (September 10 and October 1) in a bid to raise more money for their Spanish trip.
