Spalding drivers dominated proceedings in the Pre-1975 Banger Racing at King’s Lynn’s Norfolk Arena.

Will Longford roared to victory in the meeting final after Dan Booth and Simon Goodale had both taken heat wins.

Longford led the early
stages of the final, before Goodale moved ahead and Booth followed him
through.

Booth then managed to push Goodale’s Triumph – the first TR7 raced at the venue – into the fence to take the lead himself.

But Longford’s Vauxhall VX4/90 was still in the running and he managed to turn Booth’s Austin Maxi hard into the fence to take a lead he would not relinquish.

Moulton’s Jamie Clayton fell short on his attempt to claim a hat-trick of finals in the Saloon Stock Cars, but did manage a second place early on in the meeting.

F2 Stock Car star Steve Wycherley of Holbeach made his debut in the high powered F1 Stock Cars and showed that he will be a good asset.

Racing returns to the venue on Monday (1pm). Big Van Bangers top the bill, while the three-wheeled Reliant Robins will contest the prestigious World of Shale Championship.
