Talented Spalding racer Johnathan Hoggard continues to show great promise on the karting scene.
Hoggard, who was corwned East Anglia karting champion at the end of 2012, achieved second place in the Winter Championship at the Shennington race circuit in Banbury, Oxfordshire.
The 12-year-old’s latest achievement is made all the more impressive because he raced on novice platers in two out of the three championship rounds. That meant he started meetings from the back of the race grid and forced him into numerous overtaking moves.
South Holland starlet Hoggard has quickly moved from Honda Cadet to MiniMax Class and has just been presented with his new Tony Kart.
That is equipped with the latest Rotax engine and Unipro data system, which will enable his race team to have information to hand while he is out driving on the circuit.
Hoggard has already caught the eye of former F1 driver and current Sky Sports commentator Martin Brundle, who wrote a letter to him last year expressing his well-wishes.
