Duncan Hunt was in fine form at the Hereward Sports Pinchbeck and District Summer Darts League Finals Night.
The event, held at Spalding Services and Social Club, was well attended and produced some excellent performances.
Hunt came out on top in a high quality singles final, where superior finishing saw him defeat Neil Glover 3-0 with both players producing numerous ton-plus scores.
Hunt, who recorded a 180 during the final, had defeated Andy Bingham 2-0 in the semi-final earlier in the evening, while Glover edged out Simon Hill 2-1, despite the latter producing a fine 156 checkout.
Victory in the singles final was followed by another success in the Mark Tansley Trophy, where Hunt got the better of England international Claire Ball.
The pair produced 14 ton-plus scores between them with Hunt winning 3-1. His third leg victory came courtesy of a 16-darter and he secured the trophy with a 116 checkout.
He wasn’t so successful in a high-scoring league pairs final where Andy Bingham and Steve Mosendale took the honours.
They beat Hunt and Mark Horspool 2-0. Both semi-finals were decided 2-1, Bingham and Mosendale defeating Mick Atkin and Geoff Herd while Horspool and Hunt accounted for Rick Harker and Jason Hammond.
Casey Horspool produced five ton-plus efforts en route to winning the ladies final, defeating Stacey Banister 2-0.
Banister made amends though to win the mixed pairs final with Mark Taylor, defeating Mark Horspool and Lisa Brooks 2-1.
The final went the distance and Brooks missed a double 16 in the final leg with Taylor taking advantage to check out on his next visit to the oche.
Kev Pritchard defeated Ash Knott 2-0 in the captains’ cup while the landlords/ladies annual challenge cup saw Mandy Czura winning 2-0 against Nick Bond.
The knockout cup final also went down to the wire with Brennans Bar edging out New Saracens Head 4-3 thanks to a last leg win by Steve Stancer over Pete Richardson.
The highlights of the match included a 180 for Bingham and Mark Horspool, a 177 for Phil Povey, a 111 checkout by Stancer and a 16-dart leg by Hunt.
Lincoln B lifted the Ward Trophy for Division B and C teams, running out 5-2 winners over Draymans.
The match was closer than the scoreline suggests with five of the seven games going the distance.
