SOUTH Holland trio Connor Allen, Will Baker and Ross Gavaghan have moved one step closer to playing hockey for England.

Following success at county level, they were all selected to attend the Junior Regional Performance Centre (JRPC) in Nottingham.

And after a summer of intensive coaching sessions – each lasting six hours a day – they were chosen from over 100 players to make the Tier One squad of only 18 players.

Their first competitive games took place at Cannock Hockey Club, with all three lads showing great promise and Allen scoring the only goal in the second match against Oxford Lynx.

The boys are back in action in the new few weeks and hope to be selected to the Higher Performance Camp and then England.
