Spalding roared through to the last 16 of the National Vase with a 6-1 thrashing of high-flying East Midlands Division 1 team Coalville.
In front of a large crowd, Spalding started well and were a goal up from their first penalty corner after three minutes when a shot by James Doolan was deflected in by Josh Rowbottom.
A defensive lapse gifted a goal to Coalville, but the home side regained the lead when Saracen Cunnington netted.
Russ Watts made it three from close range and James Doolan finished off a fine team passing move to make it four.
Prolific striker Cunnington scored the fifth on the stroke of half time with a trademark drag flick from a penalty corner.
Spalding dominated after the break but didn’t add to their tally until the final minute through Watts.
Man of the match was Brendan Morris.
