GYMNASTS from Sir John Gleed School girls’ campus will have an extra spring in their step after being kitted out with new leotards by Bakkavor.

Both of the Spalding school’s gymnastic teams have reached national school finals, to be contested at Fenton Manor (Stoke on Trent) this month – but their gear was more than ten years old.

With that in mind, coach Christine Ringrose, who washes and patches up the leotards herself, approached Pat Baxter from Bakkavor with regard to a possible donation towards getting some new ones.

And when Bakkavor replied signalling their attention to provide a host of new outfits for the event, the girls were understandably over the moon.

A delighted Mrs Ringrose said: “When we got the news all of the leotards were to be bought for us I was overwhelmed by the generosity from Mrs Baxter and her colleagues.

“The gymnasts were ecstatic and I’m sure wearing the new leotards will give them a boost of confidence. We would all like to say once again a big thank you to Mrs Baxter and her colleagues.”
