One of Spalding Golf Club’s most popular competitions, the Buckingham Cup, was played at the Surfleet course in fine but chilly conditions.
The pairs event, played under betterball, Stableford rules, attracted 70 entries and good scores were in abundance.
Mark Cooley (five handicap) and Keith Hearne (two) came out on top, winning the cup on countback from Simon Brand (18) and Vic Davis (12) after both pairs scored 42 pts.
Andy Grimwood and Paul Johnson claimed third spot, again on countback from Lawrie Haley and Stuart Parker, Chris Hancock and Geoff Skinner and defending champions Phil Tweddell with Phil Wakefield who put up a strong performance in defence of their title.
All four pairs finished with 41 pts and other leading scores came from Calum Walker and Edward Brand, Stephen Baxendale and Andy Thomas, Simon Rothwell and Mark Crozier and Pete Clark with Phil Packard who all had 40pts.
Pairs who scored 39pts were Anthony and Vincent Murphy, Michael Sampson and Adrian Johnson, Graham Hutchings and Rob Stimson, Gary Welsh and Tim White, Raich Growdridge and Gary Palmer, Mike Crampton and Maurice Crunkhorn and Rob Dumore with Mark Mitchell.
In other club news, Simon Richardson (-3) has been selected for the Lincolnshire team to play Yorkshire at Holme Hall Golf Club, Scunthorpe, on April 5.
Looking ahead, Spalding Golf Club starts the defence of its Elsham county foursomes title with a first round tie at Belton Woods Golf Club, Grantham, on April 25.
Meanwhile, Sutton Bridge Golf Club staged its Ladies Invite Old-Bees event, which was won by Chris Burrell and Roy Amos with 33 pts.
Linda Searle and Richard Titchener came second on countback from Margaret Fox and Roger Williamson, both pairs having scored 32 pts.
The raffle was won by Chris Burrell and Stan Poulton.
