GOLF: Rob takes top spot at successful memorial

Some 105 golfers took part in the Daniel Markillie’s Memorial Competition at Gedney Hill Golf Club.

Senior player Rob Newns was the overall winner, with Tony Doyle taking top spot in the men’s section and Chris Bennett the ladies’ champion.

A great day was had by all golfers and spectators alike, before the day culminated in a barbecue and prize giving.

The total mount raised was £3,000, which will be split between East Anglian Air Ambulance, NSPCC and MS Therapy Centre (Huntingdon).
