TYDD St Giles have sent rivals King’s Lynn crashing out of the The Mail on Sunday National Golf Club Classic.
Heavy rain – and even some snow – throughout didn’t prevent some great golf from both sides, as the match ended with the sides locked at 2.5 points each.
In what turned into a a blizzard, Paul Chaplain-Barton and Matthew Bowman had to go back out for a sudden death playoff. But Chaplain-Barton held his nerve to sink a birdie on the first additional hole to send Tydd through to the next round.

PAT West, Anne Tasker and Mary Gould took the spoils in President Pam’s Yellow Peril competition at Surfleet.
The ladies, in teams of three, had pleasant conditions with hardly any wind and completed 13 holes. Olive Gooderson, Elaine Hancock and Jenny Wilson were just off the pace in second.
