Joshua Fyson’s double wasn’t enough to prevent Long Sutton losing 4-2 against City of Peterborough 2nd in the East Men’s League Division B.

Fyson twice fired Sutton ahead and Ben Shore went close to making it 3-1 but City battled back to take the points.

Long Sutton 2nd did well to hold a strong City of Peterborough 5th outfit to a 3-3 draw in Division Three North West, but they were unlucky no to win.

Adam Wiles put them ahead but the visitors fought back to lead 2-1 before Stefan Fox’s first goal of the season levelled after the break.

Alex Canham put Sutton ahead for the second time but City grabbed another equaliser to earn a point.

Long Sutton 3rd picked up their first points of the season with a 4-3 victory over Horncastle 2nd.

A superb start saw Calvin Bishop miss-hit into an open goal and Adam Sisson made it 2-0 after just ten minutes.

Jack Smith added a third but Horncastle clawed two goals back before Harry Synot made it 4-2.

A third Horncastle goal ensured a nervy finish but Sutton held on for a much-needed win.

Long Sutton 4th produced their best hockey of the season but were on the wrong end of a 4-0 defeat by top of the table Bourne Deeping 5th in Division Six North West (North).

Bourne extended their 100 per cent winning start to the season and have conceded just three goals in five games.

Long Sutton ladies dominated their East Women’s League Division Two North West match with unbeaten Pelicans but somehow lost 4-0.

Sutton started brilliantly and forced five short corners inside the first 10 minutes, with Robyn Gribble twice going close, but the hosts were hit by a sucker punch after 13 minutes.

On 24 minutes Emma Howell went close to snatching an equaliser on 24 minutes and Gribble went close just a minute later.

Jeorgia Carr created a bit of magic with a nicely lifted flick into the path of Leanne Woodhead but her effort was turned away by the Pelicans keeper.
