England international Claire Ball of Lamb and Flag C overcame Mark Horspool in a thrilling finale to the Pinchbeck Darts League Finals.

The best was certainly saved until last as the last final of the night, the singles final, produced 18 100-plus scores.

Ball, who produced two 17-dart legs plus a 19-darter and a 180, won 3-2 against Lamb and Flag A’s Horspool who produced a 15-darter and an 18-dart leg.

Organiser Les Pell enthused: “I’ve been watching darts for 50 years and the singles final was as good as I’ve seen locally.”

Both had reached the final with 2-0 wins in the semi-finals earlier in the evening, Ball beating Matt Thornhill (Draymans B) while Horspool defeated Simon Hill (Lincoln A).

Horspool and Duncan Hunt of Lamb and Flag A beat Neil Glover and Simon Hill 2-1 in the league pairs final.

They had beaten Gary Mace and Daniel Carnell of Lamb and Flag C 2-0 in the semi-finals while Glover and Hill beat Karl Rolfe and Alan Harris in an all-Lincoln A semi-final by the same score.

Horspool also took the mixed pairs with Lisa Brooks, coming out 2-1 victors over Hunt and Shirley Povey of Lamb and Flag C.

Horspool and Dougie McInerney produced 180s in the Fours Cup Final where Lamb and Flag A beat Brennans Bar 3-1.

Horspool’s daughter Casey, of Lamb and Flag B, was also in fine form to beat Doreen Hewitt of Services Club 2-0 in the ladies final.

The Knockout Final was an all-Lamb and Flag affair with the A team beating the C team 4-3 with a pair of 180s from Mark Waters and one from Kev Aldhous, while Phil Povey produced a 16-dart leg.

Johnny Pell produced a 180 and a 104 checkout to win the Captain’s Cup, beating Steve Rawding of Riverside B 2-0.

Pinchbeck Football Club won the last three singles in the H&H Cup to beat Black Boar Donington 5-2.
