EBA BOWLS: New leaders as perfect ten sends Moulton to summit

MOULTON Harrox are the new leaders in EBA Section Four (Spalding area) Club Championship Group A after a whitewash win over the basement boys.

They scored a perfect ten against Holbeach USC A to jump to the top, making it six wins from nine games in the process.

All three of their rinks scored well, but it was the quartet of M Stokes, M Dennis, K Grundy and skip D Adcock who top scored with a 29-5 win.

Ayscoughfee are also up one to second after their narrow 6-4 success over lowly Royal Mail Cart A.

The high-fliers took two rink wins, but a hefty 25-13 return from Mail Cart foursome G Walkley, M Dolton, A Radford and M Spencer levelled up the aggregate scores at 55-55.

Castle were the big winners in Group B, as they crushed title hopefuls Bourne 10-0.

It was pretty comprehensive on all rinks, with 25 shots scored by D Marriott, P Lane, T Mackie and P Godding. The defeat cost Bourne the chance of taking over at the top.

Elsewhere, struggling Royal Mail Cart B lost their basement battle with Spalding Town B 8-2.

Town are now ten points clear of the foot, with a 19-7 victory from T Nicholls, P Grimmett, C Stagles and R White the highlight.

It’s as you were at the top of Triples A, as leaders Goodfellowship picked up a 6-4 win over Carter’s Park B.

The Fosdyke side lost on two of the three rinks, but a vital 27-6 triumph from the sizzling trio of D Rate, D Allen and M Rate turned the tables and delivered an aggregate win.
