BOURNE Town secured the Spalding and District Triples League Group B title in the final round of fixtures.

Eight points from the match at Holbeach USC were enough to keep the chasing pack at bay.

It was a tight finish to the top half of the table.

In Group A, Goodfellowship finished a massive 30 points ahead of the rest.

At Consti on Tuesday, Mick Rate’s side suffered only their third defeat of the season. However, the aggregate scores were tied 44-44.

Meanwhile, Section 4 Club Championship Group B winners Gosberton have been reflecting on a good achievement.

A club spokesman said: “We are only a small village club but we saw off a few bigger clubs.

“At the end of last season we nearly folded due to lack of players, but thought we’d give it another go.”
