AYSCOUGHFEE trio Paul Caress, Chris Warboys and Ashley Caress lifted the Triples title at the county EBA bowls finals.

Held at Long Bennington Bowls Club, the Spalding side won by a four-shot margin to become county champions.

The threesome have already qualified to represent Lincolnshire at the National Finals at Worthing on August 17, but further rubber-stamped their dominance in Lincolshire.

They played seven matches to win the title, beating a set from Cleethorpes in the last four before seeing off a set from Stickney in the final.

Ben Wilson, of the Royal Mail Cart, was also on top form as he won the under-18 title 21-13. However, this is the only county title that does not go forward to play in the National Finals.

• EBA Section Four Club Championship (Spalding area): Group B leaders Gosberton were stunned by Bourne Town last week.

Having gone clear at the top following a three-game winning spree, Bourne reeled them in with a superb 10-0 win.

A 22-shot haul from M Thompson, T Ayliff, T Burton and P Dimbleby was the highlight for Town, as Gosberton saw their lead cut to just one point.

Castle are now second having drubbed Deepings 10-0 with three convicincing rink returns.
