DARTS: Win a chance to face legends

DARTING players from across the county are being offered the chance to take on two legends of the game.

Reigning world BDO champions Martin Adams and Trina Gulliver have agreed to compete at an exhibition in aid of Help For Heroes on May 12 at Spalding Services Club - and players have ten chances to book themselves a once in a lifetime match against the two all-time greats.

Qualifying events for interested players get under way next Wednesday, with ten venues in South Holland playing host. Four of them include a women’s draw.

Overall 14 places are up for grabs, with players able to enter as many times as they like in a bit to book their spot.

Entry to each event is £3, with games played to the best of three legs (501), bull up first leg, mugs away second leg, bull up deciding leg.

Qualifying dates: Feb 16 (8pm) - Riverside (Surfleet); Feb 23 (8pm) - Dun Cow (Cowbit); March 9 (8.30pm) - Royal British Legion (Long Sutton); March 16 (8pm) - The Ship Inn (Pinchbeck); March 23 (8pm) - Lamb & Flag (Whaplode); March 30 (8pm) - Robin Hood (Spalding); April 6 (8pm) - The New Saracen’s Head (Saracen’s Head); April 13 (8pm) - Lincoln Arms (Spalding); April 20 (8.30pm) - Tigers Club (Holbeach); April 28 (8.30) - Services Club (Spalding).

•The events at Long Sutton RBL, Lamb and Flag, Tigers Club and Services also have a female draw. One player of each sex will qualify at these four venues.
