Something had to give when the top two in Gedney Hill and District Darts League met last week.

Division One sides New Saracen’s Head C and Five Bells C were both unbeaten going into the clash, having won their first six games.

Champions NSH C emerged victorious after a dominant display, winning every single showdown to secure a 24-11 scoreline.

Brian Fines – who made a superb 115 checkout to win his game – Pete Richardson, Phil Povey, Duncan Hunt, Mark Horspool and Colin Hatter all won singles matches, while the three doubles all went Saracen’s way too.

Elsewhere in the top flight, Golden Lion and Sutton Bridge RBL battled out a real thriller.

Bridge took the spoils 17-15 in a game that saw John Denton and Pete Rands both nail 180 maximums. Denton also snared a super 135 finish.

In Division Two, Horse and Groom A made it five wins from as many games as they leapfrogged leaders Legion B with a 20-9 success.

Having lost the first two doubles, Jamie Horspool, Phil Horspool, Phil Brace, Richard Arnold, Dave Henderson and Richard Brooks all won singles to seal Groom’s victory.
