DARTS: Flawless Fenway A make it a sweet 16

There looks to be no stopping rampant Aron Moyses Spalding Town league leaders Fenway A as they kept their hopes of a perfect season alive.

The table-toppers made it a flawless 16 wins from as many games with a 6-1 success over club rivals Fenway C – who coincidentally have lost all 17 of their matches so far.

Andy Bingham was on red-hot form for the champions-elect, throwing two 180 maximums against Sam Brown.

Fenway A now boast a 31-point lead with a game in hand on second-placed Fenway B, who saw off Drayman’s Arms B 5-2.

Jack Chilvers and M Senior both nailed 180s for Fenway’s B side in the home triumph.

Meanwhile, J Charlton managed a 105 checkout in a 15-dart leg as Birds A edged out fourth-placed Pied Calf 4-3.

It was pretty tight in the all-Lincoln Arms clash between the ‘A’ and ‘B’ teams too. K Carter (18-dart leg) and M Atkin (19-dart leg) were both in fine for the A side, as they sealed the win 4-3.

• Players hit 180s in all of the Spalding and District League Division One matches last week.

Bill Hodge hit the maximum as Horse and Groom A dispatched Fisherman’s Arms 7-2 to register their first top-flight triumph of the season.

Also peppering the treble 20 was Black Lion’s Johnny Walker, as his team moved level at the top with a 7-2 victory at Wildfowler.

The other 180 scorer was Kevin Newton, as his Jolly Farmer A side saw off Horse and Groom B 6-3.

There was a maximum throw in Division Two as well, with Mick Brooks hitting the maximum in Maples’ 5-4 home win over Bell.

At the top, Rose and Crown kept their perfect start going with a 7-2 victory over Elizabethan. It’s now eight wins from as many games for the leaders.

• Queen B won the top-of-the-table clash in Pinchbeck and District League Division Three as they remained unbeaten. They pegged back leaders Ship B with a 5-3 success, making it six wins on the spon.

Queen needed a big finish to secure the spoils, with Adam Curle, Stacey Bannister and Dan May winning the last three games at the death.
