Fenway A’s fabulous season finished with a double as they added the Aron Moyses Spalding Town League Cup title to their league crown.
The champions bossed last Monday’s finals night at Spalding Services Club, as they won every individual trophy up for grabs too.
Having won 23 of their 24 league matches en-route to the final, Fenway were always red-hot favourites to add the cup to their swelling trophy cabinet.
Against a Birds A side that finished some 60 points behind them in the overall standings, Fenway delivered a dominant display and ran out 6-1 winners.
Steve Stancer (2-0), Nick Moyses (2-1), Andy Bingham (2-1) and Tim Halifax (2-1) all won their singles matches against Carl Gelsthorpe, John Charlton, John McKenzie and Dean Mackman respectively.
Charlton and Gelsthorpe did win the opening doubles, but Stancer and Halifax hit back before Aron Moyses, Nick Moyses and Matt Manning won a triples battle 2-1 at the death.
In the individual matches, Bingham – who made the most 180 throws this season (8) – picked up the Derek Dunmore Cup and also the Singles, where he beat Martin Wells of Drayman’s Arms C.
Stancer then joined Fenway team-mate Bingham to deliver the Doubles crown, beating Drayman’s C duo Wells and Ivan Forman.
Meanwhile, Royal Mail Cart’s John Kidrowicz was honoured for making the top checkout of the season. He managed 167, the top score possible.
Drayman’s C took second place in the overall league standings, edging Fenway B into third. They finished 42 points behind the champions.
