Three-time BDO World Darts champion Martin Adams gets his bid for a another title under way on Saturday.

Deeping legend ‘Wolfie’, who enters the Lakeside event in the preliminary round this year, currently sits 13th in the BDO men’s rankings.

His opponent on Saturday afternoon is an unknown Canadian with a very familiar name, in the shape of David Cameron.

Should 2007, 2010 and 2011 champion Adams progress to the first round, he’ll come up against old foe Tony O’Shea – who knocked him out at the quarter final stage back in 2012.

O’Shea has been runner-up at Frimley Green in each of the past two years.

Usually among the favourites to lift the BDO’s blue riband event, Wolfie (pictured) is a best-price 22-1 to win this year’s competition.

Spalding-based Ian Tilley will be among the officials at Lakeside.
