MARTIN Adams was beaten by eventual winner Scott Waites in the last four of the Zuiderduin Masters.

Deeping legend “Wolfie” went down 3-2 in his last four clash in Holland, having seen off Scott Mitchell by the same score in the quarter-final.

Waites beat Darryl Fitton 5-4 in the final, adding the accolade to the Winmau World Masters and World Cup title already won this year.

But Adams is still the number one seed for the 2012 BDO World Darts Championship at Lakeside in January.

He has been drawn to face Mitchell – the man he beat in the last eight of the recent Holland event – in the first round.

Wolfie is bidding to become only the second man ever to win three World Championships in a row, having won the last two finals at Frimley Green.

The only other player to complete a hat-trick is Eric Bristow (1984-86).

The date and time of Adams’ first round clash at the Lakeside is still to be confirmed.
