Velo-One rider Antony Gough travelled to Wymondham, Norfolk, to compete in the RTTC Men’s National 25-mile Time Trial Championships.

The National was held on a rolling B25/4 course.

Strong winds on the push out enabled Gough to reach speeds of 32mph, reducing the damage of the return leg into the headwind with a strong average of 25mph.

Gough posted a time of 53:26, a personal best by 24 seconds and placing him 63rd on the day against a field of
150 riders.

Entry to the National is an achievement in itself, finishing in the top half of the field is a testament to all of the hard work over the past months.

Shane Gowling continued his fine form, meanwhile, by posting a time of 22:23 at the Alford Wheelers Open 10-mile Time Trial.

The Velo-One testers look forward to a busy month with the main event being the Lincolnshire Road Riding Association 25-mile Champ-ionships on August 21.

Off the bike, the Velo-One team and supporters visited Sainsbury’s Spalding store to raise funds and increase awareness for JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation). JDRF are the store local charity of the year.
