CYCLING: Spalding riding high after a super season

Spalding Cycling Club celebrated a highly successful 2013 season at their annual awards night.

From the youngest ‘go-riders’ to the best novice, record breaker and lifetime achiever, a total of 31 awards were dished out to recognise the commitment, dedication and outstanding performances of the club’s members in all disciplines.

Awards for the go-riders went to Ben Norton, Harry Garfield, Emily Richards, Ellie Peel, Mimi Gurney, Cameron Nielson, Bryn Richards, Edward Gurney, Molly Peel, Thomas Webster, Theo Lawless-Hughes, William Gurney, Tilly Gurney, Megan Kendall, Sophie Wright and Tallulah Gibbons.

They were also given a projected photo by club coaches Chris Peel and Stewart Elderkin.

Senior awards were dished out to Richard Flatters, Sarah Bentley, Harry Bellars, Jake Norton, Ben Moore, Tilly Gurney, Tom Neale, Andrew Gurney, Adam Ellis, Aimee Stocker, Neil Palmer, Chris Ward, Nikki Ellis and Bill Wood. Their prizes were presented by club chairman Simon Wright and club secretary Gary Bentley.

Thanks go to organisers Shane and Lisa Norton and club member Chris Bettinson, who provided a disco after all the awards were handed out.
