IAN Fensom smashed the one hour barrier for the first time in 16 years at the Wisbech Wheelers 25 mile time trial.

He was one of four Spalding Cycling Club members competing at the event – and all of the quartet enjoyed great success.

Fensom’s time of 59.42mins was even more remarkable considering heavy rain and blustery winds made for tricky conditions.

Harry Bellars, Gary Bentley and Sarah Bentley all set personal best times too, completing an excellent day for Spalding.

Results: Ian Fensom 59.42mins; Harry Bellars 1.06.49hrs (PB); Gary Bentley 1.10.46hrs (PB); Sarah Bentley 1.14.16hrs (PB).
