Spalding men’s first team recorded a third successive win and kept up the pressure on leaders Chelmsford as they saw off Bourne-Deeping.

Man of the match Connor Allen fired a first-half hat-trick in the 6-4 home win with Henry Temple-Baxter also on target before the break.

Despite the dismissal of Harry Vickers for taking the ball above his shoulder, Spalding went 4-0 up and then keeper Richard Price departed for playing the ball outside his D.

Bourne-Deeping got two goals back but Allen scored his fourth and Stuart Cunnington added Spalding’s sixth. The visitors added two more goals but their efforts were too little, too late.

The second team drew 1-1 at Cambridge South with the equaliser by Joe Higgins who brilliantly beat two defenders, went round the keeper and smashed in from a tight angle.
