Kirton rider Aaron Clarke and draperRACING team-mate Tommy Philp travel to Cheshire for round two of the National Superstock 600 and British Supersport championships at Oulton Park over the Bank Holiday weekend.
Both riders took part in the third and final official British Superbike test at Oulton Park last Friday with Philp completing the three British Supersport sessions in 17th place while Clarke was 10th in the three Superstock 600 tests.
The test gave an opportunity to gain track experience with the new draperRACING Yamaha machines and also some valuable set-up time ahead of the weekend’s second-round encounter.
Philp missed out on a result in the sprint race at Silverstone as the weather and numerous crashes by some over ambitious riders caused the race to be abandoned.
It will be run at another event sometime during the season.
The 20-year-old rode to a fine points finish of 13th in the feature race the next day and will be seeking to build on that at Oulton this weekend.
Clarke was delighted with his test results and if he can convert that into his race result he will be really happy.
He has yet to score points in the Stock 600 class but with a change of machinery and more experience this is surely going to change.
But for a problem with arm pump at Silverstone he would perhaps have done it then as he was running 16th and challenging for 15th and one championship point. But he fell back and finished in 20th place.
The Stock 600 class is first out on Saturday for free practice at 9am followed by first qualifying at 1pm.
Final qualifying is on Sunday at 4.15pm and there is a short warm-up session on Monday at 9.16am.
The 14-lap race is set to start at 12.35pm on Monday.
There are two Supersport free practice sessions on Saturday at 9.35am and 1.35pm.
Qualifying is at 12.55pm on Saturday and that will set the grid for the sprint race over 12 laps at 3.25pm.
There is a short warm-up on Monday at 10.25am ahead of the 16-lap feature race at 3.40pm.
