BOWLS: Strugglers’ late rally in EBA season

Have your say

It might not be enough to avoid them finishing bottom, but Consti B have rallied well in the closing stages of the EBA Triples League season.

And it appears they have taken a shine to matches away from home.

They had just one Division A win to their name this season as they travelled to Bourne Town on August 21.

They brought back eight points with a 57-51 margin of victory.

And last Tuesday they backed up that win with another 8-2 success – this time at mid-table Long Sutton.

Ken King’s side were beaten on two rinks, but salvaged two points with Chris Judd’s win.

A day later Long Sutton bounced back with a seven-shot win at Moulton Harrox A. Top markers were D Spunders with M Hartopp and R Atkin (27-11).

Moulton’s two points came with a 24-13 success for J Taylor, K Harding and D Hall.

Carter’s Park A and Royal Mail Cart tied on shots but skips R Scott and P Treagus were winners for the Spalding side.
