Red-hot Sutton Bridge A extended their winning streak to seven games as they stayed perfect in EBF Spalding and District Bowls League.

The Division Three leaders picked up an impressive 5-1 success at Spalding Town C to move seven points clear with a game in hand.

Setting the tone for the big win were the rinks of B Wright, R Cousins and K Waring (27-16) and R Larham, C Green and J Barker (24-13).

Second-placed Consti B were also on the winning trail, seeing off Castle B 5-1 on their own green.

A 30-7 rink return from top trio J Deacon, M Watson and M Deacon was the highlight.

In the top flight, Moulton Harrox A edged three points clear at the summit with a 5-1 away day triumph at Castle A.

In what was a pretty close contest, the stand-out set saw N Pentney, K Jackson and R Hutchinson deliver a 26-15 victory.

Whaplode Drove A lost ground in the title race having slipped to a 4-2 home reverse against third-placed Carter’s Park A.

There was just four shots in this one, with both grabbing two rink wins apiece. But the difference makers were Scott Dunham, Annie Bellamy and A Dunham, who won their rink by a hefty nine shots (24-15).

The win leaves the Holbeach side just 7.5 points off the pace.

Just behind them are Donington, who picked up a decent 3-3 draw at Spalding Town A.

With Town pinching three of the four rinks, Donington hit back with a big 23-10 win from D Bristow, T Stanley and O Timm to edge the aggregate score 75-74 and secure a draw.

Holbeach USC A continue to boss matters in Division Two. They are 6.5 points ahead of the chasing pack following a 5-1 home success over Swineshead, racking up 98 shots in the process.

A whopping 38 of them came from on-song threesome D Tidman, J Neaves and A Barker, who picked up a handsome 38-10 win.

Whaplode Drove B are second following their 5-1 win at Gosberton. Three of their four rinks picked up 21 points or more en-route to victories, with J Riley, B Jones and M Gavaghan (28-10) enjoying the biggest margin of success.

In Division Four, Moulton Harrox D closed the gap on leaders Castle C to 3.5 points with a 4.5-1.5 home return against Long Sutton B.

They managed an impressive 92 shots in their third win from six games, with R Smith, R Groves and P Butler the top contributors.

The trio romped to a 36-3 set success.
