AN inspired showing from Mick Johnson helped keep Consti B’s faint Spalding and District League title hopes alive.
The O160 handicapper reeled off six breaks of 21 or more in a 5-2 success over Crowland A, with the best being a dazzling 82.
Johnson also made a 47, 43 and finished with 23, while team-mate John Keeton (R30) chipped in with a cool 24 as he won the final frame.
They remain 15 points behind Pyramid B with the games running out.
Also outsiders in the title race are Pyramid A. They stay second after handing Donington a 5-2 reverse.
Sid Shaw (scr) pocketed breaks of 26 and 29 as he won the first frame for the Dons, but Eric Wyer (R40) and John Twell (R60) battled back to take the tie – with the former managing a 22 break.
Meanwhile, BSC moved up to fourth with a hard-fought 5-2 victory over Crowland B.
John Bellerby (R80) trousered a 21 break en route to taking the first frame in a tight tussle with Paul Holland (R70), before Alan Sharman (R80) hit back to take the second. Alan Hansard (R70) then took the decider for BSC.
