Billiards League leaders lose out in a thriller

First met fourth in the Spalding and District Billiards League but the form book was overturned as leaders Long Sutton were beaten by Consti A 4-3.

Despite a walkover by Adam Barwell, Sutton’s form players Sean Swinburn and Mick Cooper couldn’t lead their team to victory, even though both chalked up breaks over 20.

Robert Adams starred for Consti with a 21 break, ably supported by Lindsay Porter who beat Cooper 200-112.

Holbeach B lost 5-2 to Pyramid B, for whom Martin O’Connor and Darren Read produced three breaks of 20 or more between them.

Ashley Bunn went down fighting for Holbeach B though with two 20-plus breaks of his own.
