IT took them six games, but Crowland A have finally registered their first Spalding and District League win of the season.
Wins from Derek Tinkler (O30) and Neil Burton (R90) helped them see off Consti B 4-3, with the duo making breaks of 29 and 31 respectively.
Cue ace Mick Johnson (O170) replied with breaks of 48, 43, 29 and 28, but he couldn’t prevent Crowland from jumping off the foot of the table.
At the other end of the standings, leaders Pyramid B stretched their advantage to an incredible 13 points after making it six wins from six.
They whitewashed fellow club side Pyramid A 7-0, with Martin O’Connor (R40) pocketing a 28 break, Darrell Read (R50) trousering a 24 break and Maurice Phillipson (R90) making 20.
Consti A are second after beating Crowland B 5-2, with Bob Adams (R30) making a 31 break. Crowland’s Rob Childs (O200) was in typically fine form, making breaks of 58, 36 and 32.
Elsewhere, Holbeach B defeated Donington 5-2, despite the on-song Sid Shaw (O10) reeling off breaks of 40, 24 and an unfinished 34.
