ALL eyes are on the race for second in Spalding and District Billiards League, with Consti A jumping into the driving seat.
With Pyramid B already champions, four teams are still eyeing the kudos that will come with securing second.
A 36 break from Robert Adams (R30) helped send Consti A into the coveted spot, as they effectively ended Holbeach B’s hopes with a 4-3 success.
Club-mates Consti B are now third after a 4-2 loss at BSC, who are just a point behind them in fourth.
Mick Johnson (O160) did make breaks of 40 and 38, but he was beaten in the clincher by Alan Hansard (R70), who made a 21 break of his own.
Elsewhere, champions Pyramid B brought up a century of points for the season by beating Crowland B 4-3.
Martin O’Connor (R20) sealed the success, pocketing breaks of 35 and 24 in the process, while Crowland’s Rob Childs (O190) top scored with 42.
There was better news for Crowland A, who edged a tight match at Consti C 4-3.
A 21 break from John Waker (R100) was in vain for the hosts, with Derek Tinkler (O20) proving the match winner.
