PINCHBECK’S Dan Booth is looking to put the icing on the cake on a tremendous season in the 1300 Stock Cars this weekend.
He’s aiming to take the first title that has been staged at the Norfolk Arena for the new 1300 Stock Car Association (SCA) – the European Championship.
The newly formed 1300 SCA brought together the main promotions that run the formula, along with the top drivers in the sport.
This unification has seen the formation of really meaningful championships, which feature top drivers from all over the United Kingdom.
Booth has been one of the most successful drivers in the association and will comfortably win the silver roof for scoring the most points this season – as he already has an unassailable lead.
To win a roof colour major championship against such strong opposition is something which would really set off Booth’s season. While he will start as one of the pre-race favourites, he knows that facing many top drivers who all have their sights on the top title will be a tough ask.
Other local drivers who will be in action in the Euro this weekend include Ben Yould (Pinchbeck) and Stuart Parnell (Holbeach).
There is also Unlimited Bangers action in the annual 25 and under championship of Great Britain, with the King of the Fens also up for grabs.
The 2L Bangers are also in action in a non-Mondeo meeting.
Will Young (Spalding) has had a fantastic season with his Bad News team-mates and he will be looking for a good result in the 25 and under race, while mentor Simon Goodale (Spalding) has also enjoyed his best-ever season – highlighted by the fantastic fifth place spot which he currently holds.
Paul Vines (Holbeach) is also booked in for action and he will be looking for a good performance.
