FOUR archers from Silver Spoon Bowmen put on a stellar show at the Jolly Archers Western Competition.

The Spalding club’s Stephanie and Ryan Mountney and John and Lynn Fisher all returned with medals – and they became the first-ever Lincolnshire team to win the coveted Compound Team Trophy at the Huntingdon event.

Mother and son duo Stephanie and Ryan Mountney led the way.

Ryan, who is still a junior, shot as a senior gentleman and won the competition with 10 points to spare.

In shooting a score of 850, he also broke the Silver Spoon Bowmen senior gents’ compound club record.

Stephanie came second in her event, but in shooting a personal best also shattered her own existing club record.

Lynn Fisher then came second in the ladies’ recurve event which followed her win at Nene Bowmen, also in Cambridgeshire the previous weekend.

The Mountneys and John Fisher (PB) finished off the day with an emphatic 70-point win in the coveted Compound Team Trophy.
