A packed month of stock car and banger racing action at King’s Lynn’s Adrian Flux Arena begins on Saturday (5pm) and Sunday (1pm).

There is a massive entry of cars for Saturday’s Summer Carnival Night, headlined by the Unlimited Bangers Pre-1985 ‘Big Reunion’ and also featuring qualifying for the Two-Litre Saloon Stock Car National Championship, plus three-wheeled racing in the shape of Reliant Robins.

On Sunday, the Saloon Stock Cars contest their National Championship Final and Steve Newman Memorial, and are joined by 1300cc Stock Cars and Two-Litre (non-Mondeo) Bangers.

Saturday night’s banger racing is set to build on May’s fantastic Heinegone event, with nearly 100 pre-1985 classic cars booked to race.

Leading drivers will travel from across the country to take on the likes of Spalding’s Simon Goodale – who is always a strong contender at classic car events – plus Nathan Lake and Paul Lambe.

Lake will return for more on Sunday when he will be joined by veteran racer Nick Houghton in the smaller bangers.

Fellow Spalding driver Richard Smith will be aiming for a return to the form he showed after first making the switch to the King’s Lynn-based 1300cc stock cars, which saw him win a race in his first meeting.

On a poignant weekend for the Spalding-based family, Steve Newman’s cousin Andi will be chasing success in the Two-Litre Saloon Stock Cars.

Simon Venni (Sutton St James) is a contender for the National Championship crown while Robert Heanes (Holbeach) and Tom Yould (Spalding) are also in action.
