Spalding Town Tennis Club’s open day attracted plenty of new faces for the start of the season.

All six courts were in use with a variety of people young and old trying out the facilities.

As well as potential new members having a hit with their family, friends or some existing members, club coach Glenn Perkins held group taster sessions for youngsters aged four to 16 and adults.

The club also announced a new partnership with Simon Bentley from On2Court to offer various group sessions for adults and juniors.

These will be open to all with discounted rates for club members.

Spalding welcome new members of all ages and abilities at various social sessions.

For those also interested in playing competitively, they have five men’s teams, four ladies teams, two mixed teams and an under-18s boys team.

Membership entitles use of facilities free of charge at any time with the ability to introduce friends or families as guests for a small fee.

Membership rates for 2016-17 offer value for adult members at less than £2 per week with concessions for over-70s, under-18s, full-time students as well as family memberships.

The next British Tennis Open Day is scheduled for Sunday, July 17, and is likely to be even busier, coming soon after Wimbledon.
