Teenage starlet Hugo Kedzlie from Spalding Golf Club will create history next week.
He will become the youngest player ever to compete in the finals of the 2014 Telegraph BMW Junior Golf Championship, which are being played at Quinta do Lago in Portugal.
Kedzlie, the reigning Lincolnshire boys under-14 and 16 champion who only turned 14 at the end of last month, will line up against the cream of the UK’s top up-and coming golfers for the chance to lift the title at the prestigious venue.
And his cousin Louisa Brunt will make it a family affair in Portugal after the 15-year-old scratch member of Royal Birkdale qualified for the girls’ event after winning the Northenden Junior Open by nine shots this summer.
The 21 finalists – 12 boys and nine girls – take part in the 54-hole strokeplay event from October 8-10.
