GOLF: Festive cheer for Spalding’s Howling

Lisa Howling was the overall winner of Spalding Golf Club’s Christmas ‘bring a donation for charity and win’ competition.

Formerly called the ‘Bring and Win’, the event was played over 13 holes on a very cold and foggy day at Surfleet. Ruth Atkins won the category handicap 1-20 with 24 points, with Debra Ward’s 25 points enough to top the 20-30 section. But Howling’s 28-point haul saw her top the 30-36 handicap group and take the overall honours.
