UNLUCKY Holbeach United crashed out of the FA Cup to Lincolnshire rivals Stamford AFC at Carter’s Park this afternoon.

But while the impressive Tigers said goodbye to Cup glory for another year, Pat Rayment’s Spalding showed they mean business in their quest to land the United Counties League premier division title with a thumping 11-1 win at struggling Irchester United.

Deeping Rangers put themselves into the title race as well and remain undefeated after a 2-1 home victory against Desborough Town.

A good crowd of around 250 saw Step 5 Holbeach match their Step 4 rivals Stamford, but an early goal from the Daniels captain Richard Jones made it an uphill task.

Jordan Smith made it two for Stamford mid-way through the second half, but an Andrew Tidswell penalty ten minutes from time set up a grandstand finish, with the Tigers desperately unlucky not to equalise.

Spalding romped to victory at Irchester and could have had 20 as they bombarded the home goal. On the scoresheet were Tolley 4, Cotton 3, Kennedy 2, Hall and James. The Tulips are now in second place behind St Ives.

Deeping stay undefeated in the UCL after their win and are now in third place, with Holbeach fifth, but with games in hand.

In the Lincolnshire Junior Cup Moulton Harrox notched an amazing 22-0 away win at Boston United Community Club. In the Peterborough League premier division Deeping Rangers Reserves won 2-1 at Crowland and Pinchbeck got a 1-1 draw at Peterborough Sports.
