ANDY Toyne looks set to leave Spalding United on loan after falling down the midfield pecking order.
The playmaker, signed from Stamford over the summer, was billed as one of Pat Rayment’s biggest signings and is on a two-year contract.
But the former Tulips skipper has struggled to find his best form throughout pre-season and is not currently close to a starting berth ahead of the new UCL Premier Division campaign.
Rayment confirmed to the Lincolnshire Free Press that Holbeach United and Lincoln United are interested in taking the midfielder on loan – and he expects something to happen this week.
“I like Andy, he’s a very good player,” said Rayment. “But he needs games and, at the moment at least, he’s not really going to get that here.
“We’ve got good midfield options, especially with Scott Musgrove coming in and playing so well.
“I’ve already spoken to Lincoln and Holbeach.”
